Gift box tutorial
Take any product packaging you have that will fit your gift. Remove the top flap and cut along the four corners of the side walls.
Wrap your pattern paper on both sides making sure the edges are covered.
Your bottom half is ready.
Alternatively, measure the dimensions of the gift. Draw a cross shape on card stock paper or any cardboard carton. Make sure your centre square is slightly larger than the width of the gift and each side flaps larger than the height you need. Pretty it up using pattern paper.
To make the top half, trace out the bottom (of the half made previously) on a cardstock paper adding an extra 1/8 inch to give a comfortable fit while closing the lid.
Add another 1 inch to all four sides to make the flap. Score the flap.
Wrap with pattern paper on both sides. Fold and glue the flaps. Your gift box is ready.
Decorate in your own style. I added a simple paper bow on the top made from quilling strips.
Place your gift inside and secure with ribbon.
